Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services is one of the nation’s big players in the industry. It has been known as a premier provider of investment real estate brokerage services since its formation in 1971. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise that the organization has expanded its operations into The Woodlands. As regular readers of our blog are aware, The Woodlands is one of the most sought after business districts in the state of Texas. It was established in 1974 and is located just 32 miles north of the city of Houston. It is now seen as a premier commercial real estate location and attracts globally renowned businesses.
David Luther is one of the vice chairmen of Marcus & Millichap and has been awarded the position of regional manager. Luther is clearly a valued member of the company’s team because he already holds a regional manager position in the company’s Houston and Lafayette, Louisiana offices. For the record, the Marcus & Millichap office in The Woodlands is located at 21 Waterway Ave., Suite 300.
Luther was understandably delighted and enthusiastic when discussing the news. He stated that the company was looking to increase its southwest market share and said that adding a new office in The Woodlands made strategic sense for the organization. Now, it will be able to cater to investors in the Houston metro area. According to Luther, this office not only increases the company’s strength in terms of real estate investment services in the southwest, it also solidifies its position as one of the nation’s top companies in this industry.
There are a number of Marcus & Millichap offices in Texas including: Fort Worth, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, all important strategic locations. The executive vice president of the company, Gene A. Berman, also spoke of the need to expand the company’s operations. He pointed out that Marcus & Millichap are unique in that it provides sophisticated advisory, brokerage, and financing services. Berman also pointed out that investors were in greater need of such services than ever before.
As a result, it was imperative that the company looked to push forward with its expansion plans in a bid to capitalize on the numerous investment opportunities in the state of Texas. Berman is also the group managing director of the organization’s offices in the Southwest. Given that the amount of office space within The Woodlands is falling drastically, due to immense demand, it appears as if Marcus & Millichap have made their move at exactly the right time. All signs point towards a recovery in the commercial real estate industry, so now is the time to expand offices.
This is unlikely to be the end of the company’s expansion, given that it closed more than 6,000 investment transactions for institutional and private investors in 2012. It is already known as a leading investment real estate company in the whole of the United States and currently works with more than 1,000 brokers in markets across the country.
